Quinta da Corte is one of the oldest estates in the Douro, yet it has recently undergone a spectacular renaissance. Purchased by French philanthropist Philippe Austruy (owner of Commanderie de Peyrassol in Provence) and architecturally reimagined by Pierre Yovanovitch, the estate is now a beacon of modernity rooted in tradition. Located in the "Cima Corgo", this Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) serves as the perfect bridge between their accessible entry-level wines and their monumental Vintage Ports. While a "Vintage" Port is bottled after two years, an LBV is aged in wood for four to six years. This extra patience allows the wine to soften and become approachable sooner, offering the complexity of a great Port without the need for decades of cellaring.

Terroir: The vines cling to steep, terraced slopes of pure schist in the Valença do Douro area. The poor, rocky soil forces the roots deep, resulting in low yields and incredible concentration.

Style: A "Ruby" style Port that emphasizes fruit purity and terroir over oxidative aging. It is an assemblage of traditional grapes (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinto Cão) designed to be rich yet incredibly fresh.

Vinification: In true traditional fashion, the grapes are foot-trodden in granite lagares to ensure gentle yet maximum extraction of color and tannin. The wine is then aged for approximately 4 years in large wooden vats (balseiros) to round out the edges while preserving its primary dark fruit character.
Tasting Notes

Appearance: An opaque, inky purple-black color that coats the glass, typical of a high-quality Ruby Port.

Nose: Deep and brooding. It delivers a powerful wave of black fruits intertwined with notes of rockrose, dark cocoa, and a refreshing graphite minerality derived from the schist.

Palate: Voluptuous and structured. The attack is sweet and lush, filled with flavors of blueberry liqueur and dark chocolate. However, the sweetness is perfectly balanced by a firm tannic grip and a vibrant acidity that keeps the finish clean and energetic, not cloying. It ends with lingering notes of spice and crushed stone.
