About The Winery

Country: France
Region:
Beaujolais, Burgundy

Jean-Paul Thévenet, a pivotal figure in the natural wine movement, was one of the original "Gang of Four" vignerons who championed traditional, low-intervention winemaking in Beaujolais. His son, Charly, continues this legacy, emphasising biodynamic practices and minimal intervention to produce wines that authentically express their origins.

From the oldest vines on the estate (70 years), this superb Gamay is expressed on a subsoil made up of granite and decomposing schist. Carbonic fermentation in concrete vats, ageing for between 8 and 10 months in barrels of 2 or 3 wines. Best enjoyed with pasta, veal, pork or poultry.

This Morgon is dense and deep with great freshness. A full-bodied wine with aromas of red fruits, its aromatic complexity evolves into animal notes as it ages. Best enjoyed with pasta, veal, pork or poultry.
