About The Winery

Country: France
Region: Burgundy

Located in the hamlet of Poinchy, just outside the town of Chablis, Domaine Maurice Tremblay is a family estate that has been passing down its know-how for generations. While the Premier and Grand Crus of Chablis are famous for their depth, the "Petit Chablis" appellation is the region's hidden gem for pure drinkability. It is often referred to as the "wines of the plateau" because the vines are planted on higher ground than the village Chablis. This wine is the perfect introduction to the style of the estate: unpretentious, vivid, and capturing the very essence of the Chardonnay grape in its coolest, crispest form.

Terroir: The vines are planted on Portlandian limestone soils. This soil is harder and contains less clay, which tends to produce wines that are fruitier, lighter, and more vibrant, with a distinct "stony" character.

Style: A lively and refreshing white wine that highlights the crisp, zesty nature of Chardonnay, balancing fresh citrus aromatics with the flinty minerality characteristic of the Chablis region.

Vinification: The wine is fermented and aged exclusively in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. There is no oak contact, ensuring that the fruit and the mineral imprint of the soil remain the stars of the show.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: A pale, brilliant gold with distinctive green highlights that hint at its energy.

Nose: Fresh and expressive. It opens with bright aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits, followed by a subtle, flinty note.

Palate: Taut and invigorating. The attack is sharp and clean, waking up the palate with zesty acidity. It feels light on its feet but flavorful, offering notes of green apple and fresh lemon. The finish is saline and mouth-watering, making it an unbeatable partner for oysters or goat cheese.
