About The Winery

Country: France
Region:
Burgundy

This estate is the fruit of a lifelong friendship between Christian Collovray and Jean-Luc Terrier, two natives of the Mâconnais who joined forces to highlight the unique potential of their home terroir in Davayé. The name "Deux Roches" (Two Rocks) pays tribute to the dramatic limestone escarpments of Solutré and Vergisson that dominate the landscape and define the climat. This Old Vines cuvée is sourced from parcels where vines are over 50 years old. Their deep root systems tap into the limestone bedrock, producing fewer grapes but with significantly higher concentration, elevating this Pouilly-Fuissé to a level of complexity often compared to the great whites of the Côte de Beaune.

Terroir: Steep slopes of clay and limestone situated at the foot of the monumental rocks of Solutré and Vergisson, providing excellent drainage and sun exposure.

Style: A profound and textural white wine that harmonizes the natural richness and concentrated fruit of old-vine Chardonnay with the structural elegance and toasted notes derived from oak aging.

Vinification: Harvested at peak maturity, the wine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels on fine lees, adding creaminess and depth to the final profile.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: A bright, golden yellow with shimmering hints of amber.

Nose: Intense and sophisticated. The bouquet opens with ripe stone fruits and citrus zest, layered with warm notes of hazelnut, fresh butter, and a delicate touch of vanilla from the oak.

Palate: Ample and full-bodied. The attack is generous, coating the mouth with ripe fruit flavors and a creamy texture. However, the richness is perfectly counterbalanced by a distinct saline minerality and a fresh acidity that carries the wine to a long, toasted finish.
