About The Winery

Country: France
Region:
Languedoc-Roussillon

"Maison de la Villette" is a charming tribute to the old working-class district of Paris, once the bustling hub where wine merchants would arrive by barge to supply the city's bistros. Crafted by Badet Clément (founded by Burgundian winemakers Catherine and Laurent Delaunay) this brand bridges the gap between the rustic warmth of the South of France and the elegance of Parisian culture.

Terroir: A dual selection: grapes from the flat plains of the Aude provide ripeness, while vineyards in the cooler foothills of the Cévennes add freshness and structure.

Style: Maison de La Villette Chardonnay is an elegant structured Parisian style you'll be sure to love at first sip.

Vinification: the wine undergoes 6 months in a mix of French and American oak barrels. During this time, the wine undergoes maturation on its natural lees (sur lie) with about half of the blend completing malolactic fermentation to balance the wine's natural acidity and preserve its fresh fruit flavors

Food Pairing: Fish, Salad, Fried food

Tasting Notes

Appearance: bright gold colour.

Nose: The nose combines little white flowers, lemon peel, walnut and pepper.

Palate: Dry white wine, loaded with lemon, yuzu and grapefruit, with a mouthwatering acidity on the finish.
