About The Winery
Country: France
Region: Bordeaux
Since 1783, this historic estate has been crafting exceptional wines in the village of Valeyrac, nestled near the mouth of the Gironde estuary in the Médoc region. The vineyard benefits from an ideal terroir and is equally planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, two of Bordeaux’s most iconic grape varieties. The nearby river plays a crucial role in moderating temperatures and humidity, creating a unique microclimate that encourages a slow, even ripening of the grapes. This gentle maturation process allows the fruit to develop complexity, balance, and aromatic finesse.
The winemaking process begins with fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and concrete vats, which offer precise temperature control and help preserve the purity and freshness of the fruit. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for a full year in oak barrels. This ageing process imparts subtle toasted and spicy notes while enhancing the wine’s structure and depth, resulting in a harmonious expression that reflects both tradition and terroir.
