Chateau Corbin: Saint-Emilion's Hidden Gem

Just east of Pomerol, Château Corbin stands as a superb yet often-overlooked Saint-Émilion estate. Family-owned since 1924, this 13-hectare vineyard, primarily Merlot with some Cabernet Franc, is a staple at Sotheby's Wine. Winemaker Anabelle Cruse-Bardinet consistently crafts elegant, ripe, and aromatically complex Right Bank wines.

The 2016 vintage was particularly impressive, benefiting from a new cellar allowing for precise, parcel-by-parcel vinification. After a warm, dry season, hand-picked fruit was rigorously sorted, vinified in concrete, and aged in 50% new French oak. The resulting wine is fantastic, ready to enjoy now but also perfect for cellaring,
