About The Winery

Country: France
Region: Champagne

The Pascal Machet estate is a dedicated, family-run grower Champagne house situated in the premier cru village of Vaudemange. The "Vieilles Vignes" Millésime 2015 represents the pinnacle of their harvest, crafted exclusively from the oldest and most historic vineyard plots on the property. The 2015 growing season was famously warm and sun-drenched, yielding grapes of extraordinary ripeness, profound concentration, and exceptional quality.

Terroir: The grapes are meticulously sourced from the estate's most venerable vines, whose extensive root systems plunge deeply into the region's pure chalk subsoil. These old vines naturally restrict their yields, pouring all their energy into producing highly concentrated, intensely flavored fruit. The chalky bedrock is essential, providing a striking mineral tension that perfectly balances the natural richness and power of the warm 2015 vintage.

Style: A vintage style with multiple grapes that harnesses the power and elegance of the estate's oldest parcels. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier

Vinification: Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, only the finest juices from the first pressing are utilized. Following the initial fermentation, the wine undergoes a remarkably long, patient aging process on its fine lees in the estate's cool cellars. This extended maturation builds profound aromatic complexity and a luxurious, creamy texture, culminating in a precise Brut dosage that allows the pure character of the vintage to shine.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: A radiant, deep golden yellow hue accompanied by a remarkably fine, slow-moving, and elegant effervescence.

Nose: Profoundly complex, mature, and intense. It opens with rich, commanding aromas of baked apple, caramelized pear, and dried apricot. As it breathes, the extensive lees aging and old-vine concentration reveal luxurious, comforting layers of toasted hazelnut, honeycomb, rich brioche, and a delicate touch of sweet baking spices.

Palate: Powerful, vinous, and incredibly structured. The attack is voluminous and full-bodied, instantly coating the palate with concentrated flavors of ripe orchard fruit and toasted nuts. Despite its immense depth and maturity, it remains perfectly balanced by a vibrant, driving line of chalky acidity. The finish is exceptionally long, savory, and deeply satisfying, leaving a lingering impression of roasted almonds and pure minerality.
