About The Winery

Country: France
Region: Champagne

The Pascal Machet estate is a dedicated, family-run grower Champagne house situated in the premier cru village of Vaudemange, on the eastern edge of the Montagne de Reims. Driven by a deep respect for their ancestral land, the family meticulously manages their own vineyards to craft expressive, terroir-focused wines. The Blanc de Blancs cuvée is a testament to their dedication to absolute purity, crafted to capture the refined elegance and distinct minerality of their vines.

Terroir: The Chardonnay grapes are meticulously sourced from the estate's carefully tended plots. The vines are deeply rooted in the region's signature chalk and clay-limestone soils. This specific geology is essential for regulating moisture throughout the year and reflecting sunlight, which imparts a striking mineral tension and a vibrant, energetic freshness to the white grapes.

Style: A pure 100% Chardonnay style, designed to highlight the delicate, lively, and highly aromatic profile of the grape.

Vinification: The winemaking focuses on preserving the utmost purity of the primary fruit. Following a precise manual harvest, the grapes are gently pressed, and the initial alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats. The wine then undergoes its secondary fermentation in the bottle, aging patiently on its fine lees in the estate's cool cellars. This essential resting period naturally builds a subtle, elegant aromatic complexity while strictly maintaining the vibrant, crisp fruit profile. It is finished with a measured Brut dosage that beautifully balances its natural tension.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: A luminous, clear pale golden hue enhanced by subtle green and bronze reflections, accompanied by a remarkably fine and dynamic stream of bubbles.

Nose: Highly expressive, rich, and inviting. It opens with vibrant primary aromas of fresh citrus, kumquat, and candied orange peel. As it breathes, the lees aging reveals comforting, sophisticated layers of fresh honey, delicate quince paste, and a subtle touch of fresh hazelnut.

Palate: Crisp, elegant, and beautifully balanced. The attack is lively and zesty, driven by the bright, mouth-watering acidity inherent to pure Chardonnay. The mid-palate delivers pure, refreshing flavors of tart citrus and fresh melon, perfectly supported by a highly focused, chalky minerality. The finish is remarkably long, dry, and fiercely thirst-quenching, leaving a delicate, savory saline note.
