Bodegas Bardos is a project dedicated to exploring the harshest, most extreme terroirs of the Ribera del Duero. The "Viñedos de Altura" is crafted to capture the rugged elegance and raw power of the region's elevated plateaus. It is a profound, structured red wine that honors the resilience of old vines surviving in an unforgiving climate.

Terroir: The grapes are meticulously sourced from extreme, high-altitude vineyards situated at over 900 meters above sea level on the Páramo de Corcos and surrounding areas. The vines are deeply rooted in poor, sandy and stony soils. This elevated, harsh continental climate is absolutely vital. It forces the grapes to develop thick skins and concentrate their flavors while locking in a vibrant, essential natural acidity.

Style: A 100% Tempranillo style, harvested from deeply established, low-yielding vines.

Vinification: The winemaking focuses on elegance and careful extraction. Following a manual harvest in small boxes, the grapes undergo a gentle fermentation in controlled vats. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels. This precise maturation process perfectly polymerizes the robust tannins and integrates deep, spicy complexity without overpowering the intense, high-altitude fruit.
