This adventure begins in the centenary Garnacha vineyards owned by the family of Raúl Acha, Vintae’s oenologist, in Cárdenas (La Rioja). His father had always wanted to uproot the vines, but Raúl defended their value. To substantiate his opinion, he set out on a journey through the Ebro Valley…

Garnacha is one of the varieties whose wines have increased in popularity in recent years. It has not always been the case: for a long time Garnacha was relegated to a secondary role and associated with wines of lesser quality.

From Rioja to Catalonia, passing through Navarra and Aragón, there are still small old vineyards waiting to be rediscovered to offer us a unique experience.
Tasting Notes

Coming for the 60 year old vineyards, lying on the black-slate terraces near Tarragona in Priorat, the grapes are hand harvested then spend 2 weeks fermenting in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness and fruit, then spends 10 month in oak.
The dress is burgundy in colour, with notes of both youth and evolution. The nose combines the minerality provided by black shales, with the characteristic red fruit of grenache. On the palate, it is a rich and tasty wine, balanced between elegance and finesse, complexity and length.
