About The Winery

Country: France
Region:
Languedoc-Roussillon

The "Cour des Dames" (Ladies' Court) collection is a tribute to the noblewomen of the Occitan period who were the muses of poets and troubadours, symbolizing elegance and refinement. It is fitting, then, that this range is crafted by Badet Clément, a house founded by the Delaunay family (winemakers with deep roots in Burgundy). With this wine, they bring their ancestral mastery of Pinot Noir to the South of France. They have sought out specific micro-climates in the Languedoc that mimic the coolness of Burgundy to ensure the grape retains its delicate nature while benefiting from the southern light. The result is a wine that offers the "best of both worlds": Burgundian structure with Mediterranean fruitiness.

Terroir: The grapes are sourced from the Upper Aude Valley and the foothills of the Cévennes. These high-altitude, cooler sites are essential for slowing down the ripening of Pinot Noir, preserving its signature acidity and fresh red fruit aromas.

Style: A charming and expressive red wine that harmonizes the delicate, silky texture characteristic of Pinot Noir with the generous, sun-kissed fruitiness of the Languedoc, rounded out by subtle oak nuances.

Vinification: The grapes are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel. A portion of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 6 months to add complexity and soften the tannins, while the rest remains in tanks to preserve the fresh fruit profile.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: A beautiful, translucent garnet red with ruby highlights.

Nose: Elegant and aromatic. It opens with a bouquet of small red fruits typical of the variety, underpinned by subtle notes of sweet spice, smoke, and a touch of menthol freshness.

Palate: Soft and inviting. The attack is round with a texture that feels like silk. The tannins are melted and smooth, supporting a core of juicy red berries. It finishes with a delicate, fruity persistence and a hint of vanilla.
