About The Winery
Country: Georgia
Region: Kakheti
Bedoba, which translates to "Day of Luck," is a winery deeply inspired by Georgia's 8,000-year-old winemaking heritage. Produced in the historic Kakheti region, the birthplace of wine, this white cuvée beautifully marries ancient traditions with contemporary refinement, honoring the country's viticultural soul.
Terroir: The grapes are sourced from carefully selected vineyards in the Kakheti region. The Rkatsiteli is grown on mature 25-year-old vines deeply rooted in the area's characteristic black slate soils, which reach depths of up to eight meters and impart profound concentration and distinctive minerality. The Kisi grapes hail from cooler, younger vineyards planted closer to the hills on pure limestone soils, ensuring aromatic elegance and crisp freshness.
Style: A refined style consisting of precisely 70% Rkatsiteli and 30% Kisi, two deeply traditional indigenous Georgian grape varieties.
Vinification: The winemaking is a delicate balance of innovation and ancient tradition. The Rkatsiteli and Kisi grapes are hand-harvested and vinified separately. The Rkatsiteli is primarily fermented in traditional clay Qvevri without skin contact, with a portion undergoing malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. The Kisi undergoes a short 24-hour cold soak on its skins before being fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel to capture its vibrant fruit. Finally, the wine is aged for six months on its fine lees in second- and third-use French oak barrels to build a seamless, creamy texture.
