About The Winery

Country: Georgia
Region: Kakheti

Bedoba celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of Georgia, shaped by centuries of European, Persian, Arabian, Anatolian, and Far Eastern influences. This unique heritage has helped make Georgia one of the most hospitable nations in the world. The wine is the result of a collaboration between Georgian winemaker Nugzar Ksovreli, based in Kakheti, and Swiss wine entrepreneur Thierry Fontannaz, who has a deep appreciation for Georgia’s ancient winemaking methods.

Named after the Georgian tradition known as the “Day of Luck,” Bedoba symbolises the hope for prosperity in the coming year. It is crafted from Saperavi grapes cultivated in the historic micro-zones of Kindzmarauli and Kvareli, in the Kakheti region. These 30-year-old vines are sustainably farmed on slate soils, resulting in a wine with a distinct and expressive character.
