About The Winery
Country: Georgia
Region: Kakheti
In Georgia, the "Cradle of Wine," winemaking dates back over 8,000 years. Bedoba means "Day of Destiny" in Georgian, referring to a specific day where tradition holds that what happens to you will determine your fortune for the year ahead. While many Georgian wines can be rustic, Bedoba is crafted to be a "gateway" to the world of Amber wines. It bridges the gap between ancient methods and modern precision, offering the soul of the Caucasus with a clean, polished finish.
Terroir: Sourced from the prestigious Kakheti region in eastern Georgia, known for its rich alluvial soils and ideal continental climate. The vines are located in the Alazani Valley, benefiting from the protection of the Caucasus Mountains.
Style: An "Amber" wine. It is a white wine made like a red: the juice remains in contact with the grape skins, seeds, and stems, absorbing color, tannins, and structure.
Vinification: The grapes (primarily Rkatsiteli) are fermented in traditional Qvevri with wild yeasts. After fermentation, the juice stays on the skins for several months to gain texture. A portion is then aged in stainless steel or neutral oak to round out the tannins before bottling.
